Okemo Mountain Resort is in the heart of Ludlow Vermont, a small (but warm) town about 40 minutes north of Manchester VT. This mountain is perfect for families and those who ski at different levels. This is due to the fact that Okemo has a versatile landscape.

Restaurants

Ludlow Vermont is filled with numerous restaurants that offer different vibes and landscapes. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat right after skiing then the Loft Tavern hits the spot. Depending on when you go, it can get crowded but it is filled with a mix of locals and tourists. Its called the "Home of warm beer, lousy food, and a grumpy owner." But it is everything far from that. I would highly suggest their buffalo wings. The second restaurant I would suggest is Off the Rails. This place is not as close to the slopes as the Loft, but it is a good dinner spot for those who are looking for more of a sit down atmosphere. One good food item I would suggest is their homemade pizza. The third restaurant I would recommend is the Downtown Grocery. This place is not cheap, but their food is impeccable. Every menu item is created by the chef and his wife and is constantly updated based off the seasons. One note I will add is that it is very hard to get a reservation because they only seat a few tables the whole night. So, I would recommend reserving a reservation a month in advance.

Lodging

In terms of lodging, there is limited hotel options because the mountain is only so big. But, if you are looking for convenience, I would recommend Jackson Gore Lodge. This lodge is all about convenience. It is positioned right on the mountain so it is considered ski on/ski off. It also features a restaurant, ski rentals, ice skating, gym, pool, and a sauna. The second hotel I would recommend is Main + Mountain Bar and Hotel. This hotel/bar is perfect for couples and those who are looking to have an all inclusive bed/bar. One thing to note is that it is not located on the mountain but there are shuttles that can transport you to and from the mountain.

Hidden Secrets

Where do I even start? After going to the mountain almost every weekend for over the past two decades during the winter months, I have learned a lot about the hidden gems of Okemo. Ill start here first, the Waffle cabin might be the best sweet treat around. If you are a skier, I am almost certain you have seen these stands before. But, they make the best Belgian waffles around. The second hidden gem is the Green Mountain Sugar House. This place is about a 10 minute drive from the mountain, but they make the best maple cream ice cream. Its a prefect treat after a long ski day. The last place I would recommend on your way out of Ludlow is the Vermont Country Store. The reason why I recommend going there on your way out is because its in the town of Weston VT. I'm not going to explain much besides: "its awesome and there is nothing like it."

Best of luck,
